it deserves its 2 stars. plenty of restaurants to eat close by, like panera bread that was only 15 minutes' walk away.

A useful base for exploring San Mateo. Central setting of the hotel. Moreover, free Wi Fi was a nice addition. It was worth its 2 stars.
The street was noisy and you'll have to deal with it.
